Dear Flock
of Victory,
The Christian life is to be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit.
It is indeed interesting to notice the words “ by the Spirit”
in the scriptures. We must submit and hear the Spirit’s voice
in our lives to be effective on this earth for Jesus. Remember,
we do not live on this earth for ourselves but for the one who went
to the cross and shed his blood for our sins.
Jesus spoke divine truth in Matthew 12:28, “But if I cast
out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come
unto you.” Jesus did not do anything on earth in his own power
but rather in the power of the Holy Spirit for an example for us
to follow. Casting out devils is very much in need in today’s
world. Sad to say many churches and people are caught up in the
spirit of religion with their minds in control and do not operate
in the power of the Holy Spirit. The spirit of the world has entered
into the church with medical terms of the world and has been accepted
by the church for demon infestation. Instead of casting out the
devils, drugs are administered in hope of curing the person when
there isn’t any evidence on record that the drugs bring deliverance.
The gift of the discerning of spirits is very much needed to be
in operation in every church. Plus, there is a strong need for every
individual in the church to operate in the anointing of the Holy
Spirit to be like Jesus and cast out the devils that are in the
people in their church.
Luke 4:1 states, “And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned
from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.”
When Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan, the Spirit came upon
him like a dove and John was allowed to see this transaction. This
was done right before Jesus went into ministry. Instead of trusting
in education we need to see more people receive the baptism of the
Holy Spirit for the true works of Jesus to be done. Education cannot
help you when it comes to being led by the Spirit. Just like Jesus
we all need an experience with the Holy Spirit to afterward flow
in his power.
Romans 8:14 continues, “For as many as are led by the Spirit
of God, they are the sons of God.” There will be a great awakening
one day when many thought that they had truly been born again in
the spirit and find out that they only had a spirit of religion
of man enter into their lives. The Holy Spirit leads you into conformation
to the word of God. When one is truly born again he no longer walks
in his ways or the ways of the world, but conforms to the will of
God.
Ist Corinthians 6:9-11 gives important truth, Know ye not that the
unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:
neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate,
nor abusers of themselves with mankind. Nor thieves, nor covetous,
nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the
kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but
ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord
Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” The Holy Spirit empowers
one to not let sin have dominion over them. It is not memorizing
a list of rules and regulations given to one by his church conference
but being led by the Spirit in one’s individual life and the
church’s life as well.
Ist Corinthians 12:8 enlightens us, For to one is given by the Spirit
the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same
Spirit.” The church is to be operated not in the power of
the minds of men and women with a church vote, but by the Spirit
administering the gifts to the
