PSALM 150
1. Psalm 150:1 – Praise (brag, boast, celebrate, to rave, shine) ye the LORD (Jehovah –self existent one, sacred name) Praise God in his sanctuary (a sacred place, tabernacle, temple, human body) Praise him in the firmament (an expanse, sky, heavens) of his power (majesty, might, strength)
2. Psalm 150:2 – Praise him for his mighty acts (works, deeds done) Praise him according to his excellent greatness (abundance, magnitude of greatness) Isaiah 42:8 – I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
3. Psalm 150:3 – Praise him with the sound of the trumpet (a shophar – curved horn) praise him with the psaltery (a skin bag for liquids, bottle, pitcher, vessel – a bagpipe or 7-12 stringed instrument triangular shaped played with the fingers of the hand) and harp (stringed instrument)
4. Psalm 150:4 – Praise him with the timbrel (tambourine) and dance (is in celebration to the LORD – usually the women did this – Exodus 15:20) praise him with stringed instruments and organs (a reed instrument of music)
5. Psalm 150:5 – Praise him upon the loud cymbals (loud clanging) praise him upon the high sounding cymbals ( joyful, shouting clanging).
6. Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that hath breath (a puff, wind) praise the LORD (all of God’s creation – animal as well as human) Praise ye the LORD (a command and not a suggestion – we were created to praise him)
