VICTORY IN JESUS!!!
THE NEWSLETTER FOR THE LORD’S FLOCK AT VICTORY CHURCH
FOR JULY 2010

Dear Flock of Victory,

Revelation 21:6-7 states, “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” The Lord God Almighty is giving us a wonderful truth in this passage. God is a God to the overcomers and he makes them joint-heirs of all of His creation with Christ Jesus the Lord. The children of the one true God are created to overcome this world. Jesus gave us the example to follow.

John 16:33 gives us the words of Jesus, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” The word overcome means to subdue, conquer, prevail, or to get the victory! Even in Revelation 17:14 we see this word used again concerning Jesus, “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Notice that the children of the one true God are called, chosen, and faithful!

Ist John 5:4-5 gives us insight to the overcoming children of the one true God, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” God made us to be overcomers by the simple message and tenacity of holding on to the deep conviction of belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and we must turn over to Him the title deeds to our beings; by making him our Master and Owner.

Ist John 2:13-14 gives us the reason for John’s writings, “I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.” We become overcomers when we let the Word of God take effect and do its job within us. Jesus even defeated Satan in the time of his temptation by saying “It is written” to everything that Satan put in his pathway. God made us to be overcomers in this world! We will always have the Victory when we let the word of God come forth in power and hold on to the truths that are contained within our faith in the Jesus Christ!

Ist John 4:4 reminds us that we are to walk in Victory, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them (spirits): because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Paul told the Ephesians that our battle is a spiritual battle and now John informs us that the Spirit of Christ within us is greater in power than the spirit of Anti-Christ that is in the world. Today, there is a strong demonic spirit of toleration of all religions; especially in the United States. This spirit hates the one true God and the sayings of the scriptures. There is only one God and the way to the one true God is through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Every other religion and god is false, counterfeit, and of satan. God gives his children wisdom in the scriptures and victory over everything of the world system, even the one-world religion that is fast approaching on the scene; the religions that are coming together under the direction of the devil.

Jesus spoke to the seven churches in the Book of Revelation and in each case he made this statement, “to him that overcometh.” Jesus expects and demands for his children to be overcomers.

In Revelation 2:7 to the church of Ephesus Jesus states, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” This church had lost its first love and Jesus demanded that they remember from whence they had fallen, repent, and do the first works. They were expected to overcome in these areas or else Jesus would remove their church. Sad to say you cannot find a church in Ephesus today; they did not overcome even though they had the power of the Spirit to do so.

In Revelation 2:11 to the church of Smyrna Jesus states, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” The second death is the second separation from God and the results are to be cast into the lake of fire for eternity. These believers were told to be faithful unto death no matter what degree of suffering they were to go through. They had to operate in the power of the Spirit to overcome and go to heaven with Jesus or else go to the lake of fire and eternal separation from God.

In Revelation 2:17 the Pergamos church received this notice from Jesus, “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.” This church was to overcome in the area of having teachers of false doctrine in their midst.

In Revelation 2:26, the church of Thyatira received this message, “And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.” This church was allowing Jezebel to teach and seduce the members of this church to follow her ways and Jesus was reminding them to stick to his words and works unto the end.

In Revelation 3:5, Jesus spoke to the church of Sardis, “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothes in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.” This church was doing the right talk but not the right walk. Their works were not in the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. They were living in their professions of the past and now called themselves Christian but were not under the control of the Christ they professed. Jesus makes it plain, he will blot out their names and they will not make it to heaven. How sad to be in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ and walk away to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. We must continue in the faith and grow as overcomers.

In Revelation 3:12, the church of Philadelphia heard, “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my god, and he shall go no more out; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.” This church had kept the word of his patience and were to continue to hold fast to their works.

In Revelation 3:21, The Laodiceans heard, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” This church needed to get out of the “lukewarm state” and get on fire for Jesus.

Have you realized yet that Jesus expects his children to be overcomers in order to go to heaven? Please pray with me for many to come alive to this truth quickly before it becomes too late for them to change their destiny!
