HOW TO BE A LEADER

1. HIS HEARTlst Kings 3:9-14

a. vs. 9 - understanding heart
b. vs. 9 - to judge thy people ( to discern …good and bad)
c. vs. 9 - thy so great a people
d. vs. 10 – speech pleased the LORD

Do you always seek the face of God and ask for an understanding heart when it comes to issues with your wife? Do you realize that this pleases God?

2. HIS SEARCH Philippians 2:19-21

a. vs. 21 – the things which are Jesus Christ’s

Can you set yourself aside and seek the things which are Jesus Christ’s concerning your wife? Is this hard for you to do?

3. HIS KNOWLEDGEPhilippians 3:7-14

a. vs. 8 – all things but loss… knowledge of Christ Jesus
b. vs. 10 – that I may know him
c. vs. 10 – power of his resurrection
d. vs. 10 – fellowship of his sufferings
e. vs. 13 – Forgetting those things which are behind
f. vs. 14 – I press toward the mark

Are you able to forget past arguments and experiences with your wife and reach forth with love in the future? Is it easy to die to self and let the power of Jesus come forth toward your wife?

4. HIS MEDITATION – Philippians 4:4-9

a. vs. 4- rejoice in the Lord always
b. vs. 6 – be careful (anxious) for nothing
c. vs. 6 – prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to God
d. vs. 8 – think on these things
e. vs. 9 – learned, received, heard, seen in me – do

Do you have a battle in your thought life? What steps can you take to make your thought life pure?

5. HIS ASSURANCE – Philippians 4:13, 19

a. vs. 13 – I can do all things through Christ
b. vs. 19 – God shall supply all your need…by Christ Jesus

Do you walk with confidence before your wife, trusting in God to make you a good leader to your wife? Are you always confident that God will supply all your needs?

6. HIS INTIMACY – lst Corinthians 7:1-5

a. vs. 3 – render unto the wife due benevolence (good will,
kindness)
b. vs. 4- wife not power of her body but the husband
c. vs. 5 – defraud ye not one the other ( keep back by fraud, rob)

1. consent for a time
2. prayer
3. fasting

Are you sensitive to your wife’s sexual needs? Is it easy for you to discern the level of intimacy she desires to fulfill her needs?


7. HIS RESPONSIBILITY – Ephesians 5: 23-33

a. vs. 23 – husband is the head of the wife
b. vs. 25 – husbands, love your wives
c. vs. 26 – sanctify and cleanse her with the …word
d. vs. 28 – love wives as their own bodies
e. vs. 31 – leave his father and mother…joined unto his wife
f. vs. 33 – love wife as himself

How are you doing at fulfilling your role as the head of your wife? Are you learning to love her as Christ loved the Church and gave himself for it?


8. HIS DWELLING – lst Peter 3:7

a. dwell with them according to knowledge
b. giving honour unto the wife…as weaker vessel
c. heirs together of the grace of life
d. prayers be not hindered

How well do you know your wife? What plan of action are you taking to get to know her better? Do you treat her as a priceless gift from God? Prayers?
